First, we employ Process Modeling, Gap Analysis and Data Modeling sessions to start extracting the true needs of our clients. By utilizing highly skilled facilitators we ensure that consensus can be achieved across a diverse and often disparate group of stakeholders. Secondly, we provide preliminary documentation of our notes from those sessions, Visio diagrams that map the high-level processes, and data models that provide insight into the required data and their relationships. This preliminary documentation is presented and reviewed with each contributor to ensure that the high-level requirements have been understood. Next, we engage in further JAD sessions with the client with the goal of adding the finite details such as business rules, logic and user interface design. And lastly, we fully document all requirements using a standard "Use Case" Methodology, and ensure client buy-in through a final round of review sessions.
