Public Sector

PCC Technology GroupPCC has provided software and services to more than 30 different agencies in 10 States. We are successful by understanding the unique needs and constraints that are associated with government-related processes. Our customizable frameworks that encompass many standard public sector concerns allow us to provide quality solutions within condensed timelines and tight budgets. Some of the specific areas where we have utilized our frameworks to solve public sector needs are highlighted below:

Elections and Campaign Finance

Transportation

Labor

Elections and Campaign Finance:

PCC has developed two specific customized products that can be utilized by many states: Campaign Finance Information System (CFIS) and Centralized Voter Registration System. The Campaign Finance System is an Internet-based system that allows political candidates to report their financial transactions to the State. Many reporting capabilities exist in this system. The Voter Registration System allows each local Registrar of Voters to register and track voters, report discrepancies in voting, and report voter activity. Both systems have applicability to many State and Local jurisdictions with little or no enhancements.

The need for these products and services is driven by the ELECTION REFORM Act of 2001. This law, sponsored by Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT), establishes a $4.3 billion allocation to help states and county, city, and local governments enhance their voting technology. The law calls for each jurisdiction to have a Centralized Voter Registration System like the ones we built for the States of Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island and West Virginia.      <Top>

Transportation:

PCC has assisted both the State of Connecticut and the State of Maine in implementing a Rights of Way tracking and reporting system. Our .Net framework includes modules familiar to nearly every state transportation agency (Projects, Parcels, Appraisals, Negotiations/Condemnations, Asset Management etc.), but is easily customizable to meet the needs of the specific State. By integrating features such as document/map management and GIS mapping, PCC provides cutting-edge solutions that fully meet the needs of the agency. In addition to the Rights of Way product, PCC also has experience with developing a comprehensive Roadway Inventory System for the State of Connecticut. This system allows field operations to collect data along all mile points of road in the state, using GIS enabled tablet devices. This data is then synched with the centralized system at the agency, where it is audited and reported on by the qualified planning administrators.      <Top>

Labor:

PCC helped the Connecticut Department of Transportation develop the award winning "Job and Career Connection" Website. This site assists would-be employees in finding employers, training and facilities throughout the state. Interactive maps, step by step instruction on resume composition and interview tips provide a truly comprehensive resource for the job seeker. To improve the timeliness and quality of New Hire information required to be reported to the Labor Department, PCC also developed the New Hire Reporting System to provide state employers an automated way to enter or upload new hire information on-line.      <Top>
